Carlos Santana hit a home run in his third consecutive game and drove in four runs as the Minnesota Twins scored 10 times over the first four innings and extended their winning streak to six with a 16-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Max Kepler and Ryan Jeffers also hit home runs and Edouard Julien had three hits and three RBIs as the Twins improved to 7-1 since a five-game losing streak. Chris Paddack earned the win. Joe Adell hit a home run and drove in three runs for the Angels. Jose Soriano lasted just 1 2/3 innings for the loss to drop to 0-4.

George Kirby struck out a career-high 12 batters in seven scoreless innings, Ty France hit a two-run homer and the Seattle Mariners beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1. Kirby gave up two hits, recorded eight of his first nine outs via strikeout and retired his final 14 batters. He ran into his only bit of trouble in the third, giving up a one-out double to Blaze Alexander and a walk to Jake McCarthy before he struck out Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Ketel Marte. Arizona starter Slade Cecconi was nearly as good but departed after allowing one run in six innings, striking out eight.

Bryan Reynolds and Ke'Bryan Hayes hit back-to-back homers in the 10th inning to help the Pittsburgh Pirates outlast the San Francisco Giants 4-3 on Saturday night. Reynolds led off with a two-run homer for a 3-1 lead, and Hayes followed with another shot to left off reliever Taylor Rogers (0-1). Jorge Soler answered with a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning, but David Bednar wrapped it up for his fifth save. Hunter Stratton (1-0) got the final two outs in the ninth for his first major league victory. Giants starter Jordan Hicks struck out nine and allowed a run in six-plus innings, and Pirates starter Martín Pérez also gave up a run in six innings.

Ranger Suárez's scoreless streak ended at 32 innings but he was otherwise brilliant through eight innings and Alec Bohm homered and drove in four runs for the Philadelphia Phillies, who beat the San Diego Padres 5-1 to win the weekend series. Suárez's scoreless streak was the longest in the majors this season and of his career. It ended when he allowed Eguy Rosario's two-out home run in the eighth inning. Suárez (5-0) allowed just three hits and struck out eight with no walks to win his fifth straight start.

Andrew Benintendi hit a two-run home run in the 10th inning for his second homer of the game and the season, giving the Chicago White Sox an 8-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night. Benintendi had three hits and six RBIs to help Chicago won its second straight and for just the fifth time this season. Chicago's 5-22 start is its worst ever in 27 games. Baltimore started 3-24 in 1988. Benintendi won it by smacking the first pitch he saw from Phil Maton (0-2) deep over the right-center wall. Automatic runner Curtis Mead scored from third on Deivi Garcia's (1-2) wild pitch in the dirt in the top of the 10th to put Tampa Bay ahead 7-6.

Carlos Rodón pitched two-hit, one-run ball through six innings and the New York Yankees hit four home runs in a 15-3 rout of the Milwaukee Brewers. Alex Verdugo had a three-run homer in the first inning. Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo added two-run shots in the sixth that put New York up 11-1. It was Judge's fifth homer of the season and Rizzo's fourth. Giancarlo Stanton hit a three-run homer, his sixth, in the ninth off infielder Owen Weaver, who pitched the final two innings. Rodón (2-1) allowed a solo homer in the first to Rhys Hoskins and a leadoff double in the sixth inning to Joey Ortiz. The 31-year-old lefty struck out eight and walked one.

Yordan Alvarez hit two home runs, Kyle Tucker added a solo shot and the Houston Astros beat the Colorado Rockies 12-4 in the MLB World Tour: Mexico City Series to snap a five-game losing streak. Alvarez hit a two-run homer to center field and Tucker followed with a shot to left field and the Astros took a 4-2 lead in the third. Alvarez hit his seventh home run of the season in the ninth inning. Alvarez went 3 for 5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Ronel Blanco allowed two hits and five runs in 5 2/3 innings to improve to 3-0.

The banged-up New York Mets are minus two more important players after putting reliever Drew Smith on the 15-day injured list and right fielder Starling Marte on the bereavement list. The team recalled infielder Mark Vientos and right-hander Dedniel Núñez from Triple-A Syracuse before the middle game of its weekend series against St. Louis. Marte went home to the Dominican Republic for family reasons and is expected to miss three days. Smith will be out longer after an MRI showed inflammation in his pitching shoulder. The right-hander was placed on the IL retroactive to Wednesday, and the Mets hope he can return as soon as he's eligible.

Musgrove (3-3) allowed a career-high four homers and didn't get out of the fourth. Aaron Nola (4-1) was brilliant in pitching eight innings for the second straight start. He struck out 10 for the first time this season and 31st time in his career, while holding San Diego to three runs and seven hits, with one walk. His only big mistake was allowing rookie Graham Pauley's two-run homer in the seventh, his second. Schwarber's shot was his 100th in a Phillies uniform.

Santana drove in two runs, while Byron Buxton, Ryan Jeffers and Willi Castro each had an RBI to help the Twins won the opener of a three-game series and a six-game trip. Ober (2-1) was charged with two runs on three hits over 7 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts, Left-hander Caleb Thielbar got the final out for his first save of the season and the second of his career. Patrick Sandoval (1-4) was the loser. The Angels lost for the seventh time in their last eight games

Patrick Bailey hit a walk-off three-run homer and the San Francisco Giants beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-0 on Friday. The game was scoreless until the ninth, when Michael Conforto walked and Matt Chapman singled to begin the inning off Pirates reliever David Bednar. Bailey then drilled a homer to right field. Both starters, San Francisco's Kyle Harrison, and Pittsburgh's Quinn Priester, each pitched six innings. Harrison struck out seven and gave up five hits.

Mitch Haniger hit a grand slam in the sixth inning, two batters after Arizona ace Zac Gallen left because of tightness in his right hamstring, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Diamondbacks 6-1 on Friday night. Gallen (3-2) walked Josh Rojas to lead off the sixth, then was pulled in the middle of Julio Rodríguez's subsequent at-bat. Rodríguez went on to single off Scott McGough, and Cal Raleigh walked to load the bases for Haniger, who hammered a 389-foot shot to left-center. Josh Rojas and Mitch Garver also homered for Seattle, and Emerson Hancock (3-2) threw six strong innings. Arizona's Kevin Newman homered in the sixth, one of two hits allowed by Hancock.
