Dillon Jones' 26 points help Weber State secure a 72-70 win over Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Dillon Jones scored 26 points and his two free throws with 30 seconds left in the game put Weber State in front for good as the Wildcats beat Northern Arizona 72-70 on Thursday night.

Jones also had eight rebounds for the Wildcats (13-9, 4-5 Big Sky). Blaise Threatt scored 19 points while shooting 6 of 9 from the field and 5 for 8 from the line, and added six rebounds. Steven Verplancken Jr. shot 5 for 11 (2 for 7 from 3-point range) and 1 of 3 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.

Trenton McLaughlin finished with 29 points and three steals for the Lumberjacks (10-12, 3-5). Carson Basham added 16 points and four assists for Northern Arizona. In addition, Oakland Fort had 11 points.

Both teams next play Saturday. Weber State visits Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona squares off against Idaho State at home.
