HUALALAI HOLE 17 — Usually, you blame the wind if your tee shot ends up in the trees, but in this case, the golfer was indebted to the breeze.

Former BYU golfer and 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir hit a tee shot on the par-3 17th hole during the Tuesday practice round at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship and watched the wind carry it over the hazards and fall perfectly into the flag.

"I said to Danny, my caddie, 'If I can just cover the bunker on the left and get it somewhere in the middle of the green it'd be a good shot,'" Weir said. "So I just sent a wedge out there way to the left and it just kept coming in and I thought, 'Well, it looks pretty good.'"

Weir said it was his "first hole-in-one as a married guy" after marrying "The Bachelor" contestant Michelle Money last year.
