WALTER'S WORLD — I'd like to introduce all of you to my friend Walter. Walter and I have never met or spoken because he lives on the other side of the world and is a horse. But I call him a friend because I think we'd get along famously.

In this video, a man is driving by on a scooter when he sees a woman running along a path. I mean, we'll call it running for now. The man doesn't think much of it until he sees a horse, Walter, bolting down the street ahead. With Sherlock-like deduction, the scooter-rider realizes the woman is "running" after Walter.

He offers her a ride and, together, they chase after Walter. As they approached Walter in a full gallop, I thought, "Great, you caught up to him. Now what?"

My curiosity was answered when they got in front of the horse and Walter just went around them and kept his canter.

After more than three minutes, the woman finally got a hold of Walter's reins, and the scooter went on its way.

I guess most of you, and those in the video, assumed Walter's wild instincts kicked in and he just had to run; but I've seen enough animated movies to know better.

I am convinced Walter knew he had an obligation to the rider, but he also had something he had to do — to help a friend or something along those lines. I don't speak horse, but I'm pretty confident he was on his way to do some good deed at the climax of the family-friendly flick, and his owner and the scooter-rider got in the way.

This is why I say Walter and I would be friends — because while all of you are happy the wild horse was reunited with his rider, both Walter and I are greatly worried about that opossum friend of his, in the clutches of an evil scientist bird, or something, and Walter just didn't make it in time.

Stay strong, opossum, and you're a good horse, Walter. Don't listen to those neigh-sayers. (That's an inside joke between Walter and myself.)
