SALT LAKE CITY — When it comes to college football rivalries, BYU and Utah is one of the most intense.

When it comes to rivalry relationships, the friendship between Patti Edwards and Vicki McBride is one of the best

"I always call her a sister from a former life," McBride said.

"Both of us have had the ability to recognize: Let the guys fight the battles on the football field," Edwards added. "But relationships, good relationships, and people are what's important."

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, Patti and Vicki are truly grateful for each other — a relationship that's lasted decades. They share what keeps their friendship going, their thoughts on the rivalry and the pain of losing LaVell Edwards.

Watch their story above to see how their friendship developed.
